GEOFFREY MUTAI WILL RUN IN CASTELBUONO
"KING OF BOSTON" WILL RUN IN ITALY NEXT 26TH JULY

Castelbuono (Pa) - From the Boston Marathon,the oldest road run in the world (115 years),  to Castelbuono, the oldest race in Europe with its 86 editions and nearly 100 years of history. A wire connects these two events, thousands of miles away but getting closer and closer in the start list. The organizing committee of the International "Giro Podistico di Castelbuono" the next July 26, 2011 is pleased to announce that at the starting line will be in Piazza Margherita Geoffrey Mutai, winner of the Boston Marathon in 2011.
 
Mutai, twenty nine year old Kenyan , has made history in Boston running the marathon with a resounding 2h03'02 ", almost a minute less than the world record of Haile Gebreselassie.Due to many little problems, this world record has not been approved but it is still by Mutai to have won the fastest marathon of the story.
 
Geoffrey Mutai will be at the start of the "Giro di Castelbuono" and will be the man to beat with American Ryan Hall, the fourth ever in Boston: "The race has always been in my blood. The breakthrough came in 2007 when I met my manager  and he gave me the chance to compete. At that time I worked as a lumberjack. In 2008 I won the Eindhoven Marathon 2h07'50"and was able to repeat the success in the race the following year in the Netherlands 2h07'01" these were words of Mutai at the end of his recent trip in Boston where he returned last June 26 in 10k again winner with the personal best of 27'19 ".
 
At 20 days before race cast of top runners i growing up more and more keeping with the Castelbuono's century-old tradition of having players the strongest athletes in the world. Again, the Organizing Committee, chaired by Mario Fesi, is in discussions with other athletes of great technical depth that will make the race as unique running event.
